I just recently found this design in one of my old drawers that I haven't looked in in a long time. I do not remember what the blue stands for (any suggestions?), but I remember that the red and yellow represented Rome, where the sport of bowling was invented. The saltire design resembles the letter X, which is used in bowling to represent a strike.
