Maine

This Maine flag design is, in my opinion, the perfect symbol for the state of Maine. The pine tree in the center of the flag was inspired by the pine free shading the dead elk on the Maine state flag. The five-pointed star is a symbol of the United States, and when it is on a blue background, it looks similar to the stars in the canton of the United States flag. The blue and green were inspired by Maine's current flag.
Maine's current flag is one of the worst flags in the world. Not only is it ugly, but there are two people that somehow represent the state on there, and the one furthest away from the hoist looks bored out of his mind. The design shown above is just perfect.
The flag's original design was discovered here.

Interestingly about a year ago this redesign won a contest to find a new state flag for Washington State. It was noticed in the search because the blue better stands for the Pacific rather than Atlantic which would be in the fly. I need to know who holds the IP for this design because it will be produced soon (most likely in small numbers) as part of a collection of better designs for underperforming state flags, and a small return on a percentage of profits could be due.
