New York

This New York flag design was one of the hardest ones to come up with, and I still am not very pleased with it. Oh, well.

The orange represents New York City, which was originally named New Amsterdam, after Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, of which orange is the national color. The five-pointed star represents the United States, and so does the red, white, and blue.

I think New York deserves a much better flag than its current one, especially because of New York City, which has a better flag than the state of New York.

If you're that passionate about flags, why not join NAVA (www.nava.org), the only organization in the US devoted to the topic?

I'm a member of NAVA, too! How do you like my design?
