North Dakota's current flag is just plain horrible! The shape of the eagle changes so much, that I have never seen the same North Dakota flag once, and I wonder how hard it is to sew! Ugh!!!
The chevron represents the North Dakota eagle and two people shaking hands, which represents the state's nickname "The Peace Garden State", and so does the chevron separating the yellow and blue, and the five-pointed star represents the United States.
